Academic Studies Press is pleased to announce a new book series, which will present different perspectives on the cultural and social history of music and musicians. We welcome an interdisciplinary approach, and especially projects that promote or encompass research that cross-cuts what had formerly been mutually alienated or isolated categories and fields. Of particular interest are comparative study and critique of discourse (reception, criticism, historiography). Another area we hope to foster is the study of mixed media, including opera, ballet and music theater, from a multiplicity of perspectives and against a multi-colored, always expanding background.
