On March 2, 2025, Congregation Beth Am in San Diego is hosting an event featuring Dr. Hélène Jawhara Piñer, a renowned Sephardic chef and author. The day includes two distinct programs:
Morning Program (10:00 AM):

Lecture: Dr. Piñer will present on “Passover and Sephardic Food Practices,” exploring the rich culinary history of Sephardic Jews.

Cooking Demonstration: Following the lecture, she will demonstrate how to prepare “Chestnut and Mexican Date Haroset Balls from Ferrara,” a recipe from her new cookbook, Matzah and Flour: Recipes from the History of the Sephardic Jews.
