Contemporary Eastern Studies (Russian-Language)

Book series under the imprint of Academic Studies Press (Boston, US) and Bibliorossica (St. Petersburg, Russia)

Academic Studies Press is pleased to announce the launch of the new Russian-language series Contemporary Eastern Studies. This series offers Russian translations of scholarship by outstanding Western, Chinese, Japanese, and Turkish scholars that deal with Russia’s closest neighbors and partners—Near East, Far East, and Central Asian countries. Topics discussed include history, culture, literature, economics, and politics of the large Asian continent, from Kazakhstan to Japan. Books within the series explore topical issues, important historical events, cultural traditions, and analysis of development.

The series brings together books written by researchers from various countries. Some of these works provide an insider’s view, focusing on specific countries or historical periods. Other works provide a broader view through the lens of a global perspective. Of note are comparative studies that examine coexistence and interrelated development between countries. Contemporary Eastern Studies especially welcomes scholarship that analyzes the relations between Russia and the East, and Russia’s quest to find its place in this region.

All books are translated into Russian for the first time. The translations are supervised and approved by the authors.

Academic Studies Press».
