J. W. Traphagan is an anthropologist and Emeritus Professor in the Program in Human Dimensions of Organizations at the University of Texas at Austin. Traphagan’s work has appeared in numerous scholarly journals and his most recent book on Japan is Cosmopolitan Rurality, Depopulation, and Entrepreneurial Ecosystems in 21st Century Japan (2020). Currently he teaches in the Political Science Department at the University of Massachusetts Lowell and the Organizational Dynamics Program at the University of Pennsylvania.
