Book Review: The Englishman from Lebedian

The Englishman from Lebedian: A Life of Evgeny Zamiatin by J.A. E. Curtis was reviewed in The Times Literary Supplement (November 7th 2014). Reviewer Alexander Etkind writes:

"Zamiatin’s was an enigmatic life, and I understand the enthusiasm with which J. A. E. Curtis has written this biography. She has delved deep into the archives and found dozens of new documents, mostly personal letters, which testify to Zamiatin’s personal charm, courteous womanizing, gastronomic pickiness, marital quirkiness and ceaseless irritation with Soviet, then French authorities. . . .
